1st Grade Science Fair Projects

A first grade science fair project enables a first grader to learn science in a fun way. Science fair projects plant the seed of interest in science, in a child. It inflames their imagination and arouses their interest in the world around them. The first grade is the ideal time to introduce a child to the amazing world of science and allow the child to explore and satiate his or her curiosity. The child also learns to be methodical and organized as the project follows a scientific method and is based on scientific concepts and principles which children are able to grasp easily.

While a classroom lecture often tends to be one-sided with the teacher giving the maximum amount of inputs, a project focuses on the creativity and initiative of the child. The child is involved in his project a hundred percent. Science fair projects also help in strengthening the bond between parents and children, as the child usually turns to the parent for topic ideas and finally choosing the topic.

Creativity

For a first grade science fair project to be successful, the following tips should be kept in mind.

1.Allow the child to choose the experiment only if the topic interests the child. If they don't want to do it, you'll struggle the whole time.

2.While the teacher or parent can lend a helping hand and guide the child, the child should be allowed to work independently. No adult should ever take complete control of the project. The adult should just keep an eye open to ensure that there are no accidents or mishaps. Suggestions and guidelines can also be given but the child should be allowed to do the experiment and draw his or her own conclusions from it. This way a child learns much more.

3.Allow the child to have fun while doing the project

4.Allow the child to experiment as one project idea can lead to many questions and new ideas.

5.Allow the child to be creative as a child can have an entirely different perspective about the project.

There are thousands of ideas. A few are:

1.To explain the concept of density, put an egg in a bowl of water and see if it floats or sinks. Replace the water with salt water, sugar water, oil and various other liquids of different densities and record the results.

2.Make a simple lever with a pencil and an ice cream stick. Balance coins on both ends and explain the principle.

3.Test the magnetic force of a magnet by covering it with paper, plastic, aluminum foil etc. Check its magnetic power.

4.Make different designs of airplanes and test which ones fly the best.

5.Find out if white or dark objects get heated faster in the sun.

6.Demonstrate how a solar/lunar eclipse occurs.

7.Make a compass with a needle and cork.

8.Plant seeds and watch them grow.

9.Explain the water cycle.

So, a first grade science fair project is a scientific experience and will be one that child will never forget.

History of Softball

The game of softball has an interesting history. America has always been the most innovative and inventive nations of the world when it comes to sports. Softball is one of the finest innovations in the history of American sports. Softball is another close relative of the popular sport baseball, but with slight and significant alterations. It is very interesting to note that though softball has never gained much popularity worldwide, it has its genesis right in the nineteenth century. The very first version of softball was invented in Chicago in the year 1887 by a reporter from the Chicago Board of Trade. His name was George Hancock, and he tried to innovate a winter version of baseball.

Farragut Boat Club was the first venue where the newly evolved game of what was then known as 'indoor baseball' was first played. There are many humorous incidents which have proven to be one of the most important developments of the game. Instead of a specialized glove for the game, a boxing glove was tied to the ball. Instead of a specialized bat, a broom handle was used to hit the ball.

Inventive

IN 1895 came the first time softball was played as an outdoor game, in Minneapolis. Firefighters played it for exercise. The game of softball at that time was known as kitten ball. After years of development in the game, the first ever softball league outside the United States was organized in Toronto, Canada, in 1897. Softball's name had itself undergone a series of changes since 1926. Some of the names include indoor baseball, kitten ball, diamond ball, mush ball, and pumpkin ball. Standard and international rules were first agreed upon only after the formation of the Amateur Softball Association in 1933.

How to Create a Positive Work Atmosphere

Positive versus Negative Workplaces

We have all worked in places where we grew to dread getting up in the morning, and a few of us have had the pleasure of working for a boss who makes us feel like we can do anything. Let's take a look at the differences between a positive and a negative work environment.

Create

Signs of a Negative Work Environment

• The boss is unfriendly.

• The boss is critical.

• There is high employee turnover.

• There is low employee morale.

• People watch the clock.

• People don't get much performance feedback.

Signs of a Positive Work Environment

• The boss demonstrates interest in the employees.

• The boss has an encouraging attitude.

• Employees like working there.

• There is evidence of company pride and loyalty.

• People know where they stand with their supervisors.

Thousands of books have been written on the subject of managing and motivating people, and as many training seminars are conducted on this subject around the world every day. And yet it's interesting that even with all of this available information, few companies succeed at creating a positive work environment. Let's see what's involved.

Four Key Skills

Creating a positive work environment is based on four key skills. They are:

1. Tell people what you expect of them.

2. Show interest in your team members.

3. Create an encouraging environment.

4. Recognize and reward good performance.

Skill #1: State Your Expectations

Telling people what you expect of them means doing the following:

• Communicating expectations clearly

• Having a specific job description

• Identifying specific performance standards

• Specifying deadlines

• Setting goals

Skill #2: Show Interest in Your Team

What behaviors convey that someone is interested in you?

• Making eye contact

• Calling you by name

• Asking your opinion

• Smiling

• Complimenting your work

• Taking your suggestions

These behaviors convey a lack of interest:

• Ignoring you

• Not knowing your name or not using it

• Not asking your opinion

• Ignoring your suggestions

• Not commenting on your work

• Following your suggestion, but only when heard from someone else

Such signs discourage productivity because they make people feel discouraged, angry, less confident, and stripped of self-esteem.

Skill #3: Create an Encouraging Environment

Most people would agree that an encouraging work environment is one where:

• Your ideas are valued.

• Creativity is encouraged.

• Risks are encouraged.

• Fun and laughter are valued.

• New ideas are rewarded.

• You feel appreciated.

• People thank you for your contributions.

• Flexibility is valued.

• You feel like part of the team.

Creating such an environment results in the following benefits to employees. You:

• Contribute more ideas.

• Feel more committed.

• Look forward to coming to work.

• Are more productive.

• Have increased self-esteem.

Creating such an environment results in the following benefits to managers and business owners:

• Less turnover

• Less sabotage

• Greater loyalty

• Easier to find employees due to good reputation

• Higher productivity

Skill #4: Recognize and Reward Good Performance

A reinforcer is anything that happens, after a behavior, that tends to increase the chances that the behavior will be repeated. Included are such things as:

• Compliments

• Smiles

• Thumbs-up gesture

• Saying "Thank you"

• Public announcement of your achievement

• Positive letter in your personnel file

• Promotion

• Time off

• Special parking space

• First choice on schedule

• Dinner with the boss

• Tickets to an event

• Extra employee discount

• Picture on the bulletin board

• Applause at a meeting

Recognition Guidelines

1. Describe the results you are recognizing. Be specific. It's important to make certain the employee knows what behavior or accomplishment you are referring to.

2. State your personal appreciation. Say, "I appreciate it." Adding your personal appreciation makes the compliment feel more genuine.

3. Encourage the person to continue producing such good work. This increases the chances that the person will repeat the desirable behavior.

Simile Examples

Simile examples are everywhere in songs and writing. When you're songwriting think of this tool as you partner in painting pictures.

Pictures that emotionally connect with your listener and then take them on an enjoyable experience thanks to your song.

Invent

Simile examples compare two things or ideas to help the listener understand something new from something they already know. It transfers information from one idea or thing to another.

As a comparison they don't force the first thing you are comparing into the second thing you are comparing. This is very handy if you don't want to include a negative aspect of the first object.

If you want one object to become another use a metaphor. For example: the man is a bear. It doesn't compare, it says he is a bear. A simile would just say he was like a bear.

Most similes use the word "like" or "as" to make a comparison between two things. Here are some common examples:

smooth as butter

bright like sunshine

green as the grass

rough like sandpaper

ears like an elephant

shaking like a leaf

sharp as a tack

There was a time when all these comparisons were fresh and made people stand up and notice. Not now however, because once people have heard them many times the picture gets established and its not new anymore.

If it's not new and fresh its not nearly as interesting to the listener. As a songwriter you're in the business of creating new images and pictures that will steal the hearts and minds of the listener.

Its important to do this while making sure they don't feel manipulated by your song. You have to make yourself unique compared to other writers.

Stay away from old sayings you've heard many times before. Invent new ones, use a thesaurus or take an old saying and twist it just enough to make it unique again. Something like this:

smooth as eggshells

bright like ideas

green as politicians

rough like first dates

ears like blood hounds

shaking like a Elvis impersonator

sharp as a new dress

You can have a lot of fun converting old similes into your own. Do as I just did, write out some old ones and dream up new comparisons that you haven't heard before. Or just start fresh, use your imagination and see what you come up with.

After you have written your song go back and work on it, build interesting simile examples into it. Pack it with these new pictures for the listener.

Dig deep, also use analogies and metaphors to make your writing stand out.

The Growing Popularity Of Pianos

Pianos are the musical instruments that produce rhythm when they are played according to their specified process. The first piano was made in London in year 1766 and it was made by Sebastien Erard. He dedicated his life in the making and improving the technicality of the piano. In the technical process the previous model were lacking in good features. The popularity was abreast with the innovations made in the device. It underwent a lot of modifications and then according to the change in technology the innovations led to a higher stage. Over the years the piano has gained become popular very much. At the beginning they used to come in a model that had only one pedal and five octaves. Then with the inventions of the modern pianos and digital pianos it gained popularity.

Innovations led to popularity

Invent

There are many types of pianos like square pianos, modern pianos, silence pianos and digital pianos. The first invention was by Bartolomeo Cristofori. Then a lot of modifications and improvement led its way to gain popularity. As the innovations were in progress many people those who were mainly the music lovers were attracted to such modifications and they learned and played with great interest. The interest gradually generated in a lot of people and people craved for listening to such music. When these tunes were transformed in soft copies they became popular and even they were sold in CDs known to be instrumentals. Adding to the technicality it can be said that the sound or the musical rhythm produced is by striking the end of the felt hammers and the strings and thus a vibration is produced by this interaction. The musical note that is produced constitutes a nice rhythm when they are concatenated. This function remains the same in the case of pianos only there is a change in the technical process.

The innovations that were made in the piano were the main reason behind the popularity of the pianos. Many types of the pianos came to be known with the modifications but the maximum popularity was with the making of the digital pianos. The features were also very easy to follow and they were inexpensive and over the years lot of electronic modifications made in the way which added to its popularity.

Piano Tuning

Piano is delicate instrument which contains some ten thousand unique parts, and as these pianos are quite delicate they need frequent maintenance and servicing. Tuning is the most basic kind of piano maintenance. And it means adjusting the tension of each of the piano strings, using a tuning hammer to turn the tuning pins. So that the pitch of each string sounds pleasingly in harmony with every other string according to certain rules and customs. The most important cause for pianos to be tuned is the change in humidity from season to season that occurs in most temperature climates. The climate affects all the pianos whether it is old or new, good or bad, played or unplayed. Some pianos have a weak structure that actually twists slightly from season to season. These pianos go out of tune chaotically in addition to showing large seasonal variations in pitch.

Piano tuning and servicing is a very complicated process that takes a lot of training and skill to do it right. Iron made tuning is much more stable but the case and soundboard have all the propensities of wood to change in response to changes in seasonal humidity's. So it is usual for the pianist that the instrument needs to be tuned twice a year. There are different factors which affect tuning the instrument. Some of the factors affecting the sound are inherent in the strings, case and soundboard; others are related to the human hearing apparatus. Many of the characteristics of piano sound are inexorably tied to the qualities of the individual instrument.

Functional importance of Piano

The piano is an important instrument in the western music. Since, a piano is equipped with complex and different tools of melodic and harmonic sounds, it helps facilitating of the composition of music in a significant manner. In 1872, duplexes or aliquot scales emerged. It comprised of controlling different components of vibration by tuning their secondary parts in octave relationships. This helped in more distinct undamped vibrations and thus helped to modify tones. In the early 19th century some structural changes took place which led to a more powerful, harmonious and sustained piano sound. High quality steel and accurate casting techniques for iron frame manufacture were getting innovated in that era following the Industrial Revolution.

Piano as backbone of music

Earlier, the innovation of piano was simply an outcome of the musical curiosity, exploring the undiscovered realms of music. However, later it became as one of the telepathically governed ways to interact with the soloist with the help of short and sustained chordal and melodic synchronizations. Piano gave the soloist capabilities to adjust his/her voice according to the changing patterns of rhythm, scale, octave, harmonics and tones. Since the musical range of piano could ride the waves of ever changing attributes in music, thus this instrument became the backbone in musical composing, rehearsing and orchestral accompaniment. Although piano being non-portable and expensive, yet its versatility and dynamically re-adjustable character made it the most powerful instruments in composing.

How to Create a Strategic Position for your Company

A strategic position statement is kind of like a statement
for your company. You want to explain this statement how
you view your company and how you view it within the rest
of your marketplace.

Circuit City is a good example. It's an electronic
department store that is making excellent profit margins
while their competition is going out of business. They've
taken a unique strategic position, being number one in
service and taken that all the way down to their USP which
is "Service Above Beyond All That Is Expected."

Create

It's almost impossible to be the best in all and that's why
you need to figure out what makes your unique and what your
strategic positioning is going to be. What's your number
one calling card or claim to fame going to be?

There have been tons written about the subject positioning.
Positioning has been the marketing philosophy for most
successful companies over the last ten years. But what is
it? And how can you use it? What place do you hold in the
public's mind? If the answer is none, then again, you have
a problem.

If you hold no place or a negative one in your public or
Marketplace's minds, then they're not going to do business
with you.

For example Sony has been first at innovation. They to be
first in whatever's next in technology. K-Mart the cheapest
price store that won't be undersold. Price and full lines
are their battlefields for your mind.

What's the best battlefield (Strategic Position) for you to
take?

You've got to understand that any decision to buy or use
someone takes place in the mind. So, if you're not in mind
then they probably won't buy from you or use you. You
basically, "aren't there" without a position.

Some of the most common examples of positioning are
service, speed of delivery of service, latest technologies,
Guarantees, and lowest price.

Your company probably has already carved out a niche for
itself of some kind. The problem here is that too many of
you owners out there don't even realize what the identity
of that niche is. Often times the salespeople know what it
is better than the owners do.

The customers really know best. What you need to do is find
out from your best customers why they are doing business
with you instead of someone else. This tells you what your
real niche or core competency is within your company right
now.

If you think you do one thing and your customers think you
do another, then you need to make a decision. causes this
difference in perception? Did your marketing do too good of
a job advertising your weakness or what you do least
instead of best? Have you changed the way you do things and
haven't let your market know yet?

If from your results you think you're marketing the wrong
USP and losing business because your market has the wrong
perception of you, then change it.

These are not minor decisions. They are also not minor
decisions for your company. These can be make or break
decisions. The good thing is you can survey your market.

Creative Ways to Teach a Bible Verse to Your Sunday School Class - 10 Ideas

Teaching a Bible verse is perhaps one of the most important things a Sunday School teacher can do. After all, the Bible tells us

"..And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15 KJV)

Invent

Whatever methods you choose to use, always leave enough time for your class to repeat the verse 3 to 6 times. Say it in groups. Say it as individuals. Learn it. Explain it. And yes, memorize it. You can make this part more interesting with several strategies listed below. Some are very simple and require no preparation. Others are slightly more involved.

1. Grouping

Simply by getting different 'groups' within the class to repeat the verse with other people in their group, you will be able to do rote repetition more effectively. Group the class by boys, girls, those with blue eyes, brown eyes, older sisters, younger brothers, colored socks, etc. etc. Of course, don't forget to ask for individual volunteers who have already memorized it.

2. Speed or Volume

Some children are actually better at remembering a verse if you get them to repeat it as fast as they can. Give it a try, if only for the sake of variety! Try to repeat the verse in a whisper or in loud voices.

3. Write it

As simple as it sounds, simply have your students write the verse on their own paper. After practicing together a few times, ask the students to write as much as they can from memory without looking at the original. Then reveal the white board to the class again to correct their mistakes. Writing a word uses a new thinking process other than the verbal exercises. Also consider asking one of your students before class to write the verse on the board for you.

4. Sticky Note Scramble

Write each word of the verse an a 3M PostIt note and paste them to the white board in their correct order.

a. Pull the words off the board and have a student re-assemble the words in their correct order.

b. Alternatively, you could randomly hand out the sticky notes, each paper to a random student. Ask "Will the person with the next word in the verse please come to the board and place the word on the board?" Or say "Everyone please place your sticky note on your shirt, come to the front of the class and form a line with the words in correct order."

c. Start (or resume) with the full verse on the board. Eliminate the words, one or two at a time, and recite the verse each time until all the words are gone. Let a student decide which word(s) to eliminate by eliminating a word that contains the first letter of the student's name. e.g. Jenny would eliminate all words that contain the letter "J".

5. "Eye Exam" the verse

Write the memory verse about 6 or 7 times on poster board or large pieces of paper. However, each time you write, gradually make the words smaller. The words on your last card should be as small as you can possibly write them. You can use a computer word processor to write fonts very small - smaller than 8 point font - if you type the number into the font size choice instead of simply select it with the mouse.

Show your first card (Biggest words) to your group, and have them say the verse. Then simply work your way through to the last card - children repeating the words each time. As you get to the smaller words, start to compliment the group on their eyesight. Act amazed when they manage to "read" your last card. Then say "I think you are trying to fool me. I don't believe you can really read this last card. I think you have memorized the verse. I think you can repeat the verse without any card at all" - And they will!

6. Invisible Writing

Write the verse with a white crayon on white cardboard or paper. Get volunteers to gradually paint over the cardboard with red food coloring. The words will then 'magically' appear as the food coloring adheres to the crayon. This is a good way to teach verses concerning the blood of Jesus

7. Wheel of Fortune - Guess the letter.

This is another popular method, but it does take a little longer than most other ways. Write out your verse by putting "blanks" for letters e.g.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Luke 19.10.

The idea is for the children to guess the correct letters that make up this verse. As they do so, fill in the blanks.

There are two ways of using this method.

Competing teams (e.g. boys v. girls). One person from each team guesses a letter in turn. If team 1, for example, guesses 'n', and there are three n's, they get three points. If team 2 guesses 'e', and there are six e's, they get six points etc. The team with the most points when the verse is complete is the winner.

The class competes against 'teacher'. Explain that if they guess a letter and it is not in the verse, you get a tick. If you get four ticks before the verse is completed, you win.

8. Mirror image

Write the verse backwards, so that you could only read it properly by looking at it through a mirror. (Ensure that the individual letters are written 'the wrong way round'). Get the children to try and read the verse. In my experience, most children do not have any trouble doing this.

9. Decipher Codes

Perhaps appropriate more with a small group of students at table instead of a large audience only in chairs, decipher codes can be used for students to "solve" the verse and write it correctly.

a. Extra letters. Write the verse on the whiteboard adding two extra letters between the words. Leave no gaps. Here is an example:

ThegxsonkbofswmanqkcamerptoooseekzjandfrtouwsavexrthegglostaaLukejy19.hh10.

b. Jumbled letters. Jumble up the letters of each word. Example:-

"het sno fo mna acme ot eeks dna ot aves het tlos." Lkeu 19.10.

c. Substitutions - Write the verse with a number of deliberate mistakes. See if the children can spot them all.

e.g. The brother of God arrived to find and shave the poor. Matthew Chapter ninety verse eleven. (Luke 19.10. - Mistakes included).

d. Use Spoonerisms- to add humour to the presentation. (for eg- "the speed of light becomes - the leed of spite" or "go and shake a tower"...go and take a shower.

"The mon of san is some to ceek and to save that lich was whast." Luke 19:10

10. "Drop Out" Game

Arrange the students in a circle or around a table. Randomly choose a student to start the game by saying only the first word of the verse. The student to the left says the second word. The next student says the third word and so on. No hesitating is allowed. If a child cannot say the next word, they "drop out". Once the verse is complete, get them to do it again, only faster! Alternatively, you could make the make the game a team effort by saying the verse perfectly as a group two or three times in order to receive a reward or earn "best time" status (using a stopwatch).

And finally, a bonus method, number eleven.

11. Sing It

Invent a tune to carry the words in the student's mind. Choose a sing-songy tune such as "wheels on the bus" or "Peter peter, pumpkin eater" or better yet invent your own. Remember, the goal is not to become the next Mozart, but to teach the words of the verse. Putting words to a tune is an extremely powerful memorizing technique for children.

How to Make a Fun Mars Rover From Everyday Objects!

Build this great Mars Rover with just a few items you can find around the house. This is a fun craft for kids, parents, teachers and educators to learn to build, and you can make it with very simple supplies. Just follow the instructions for more information.

Always use your imagination and be creative when building this project or any others. It's your creation, so be inventive when looking for building supplies - you just may be surprised! When building your project, experiment with new and different ways of putting it together. The most important thing is to have fun! Find these or similar supplies!

Inventive

  • 1/2 gallon juice or milk container
  • Cereal box or some cardboard
  • Foil Tape
  • 2 straws
  • 4 container lids
  • Any additional items you wish to use for customization

1. Tape up your milk carton!

Start out by taping your juice or milk container up completely. I used foil tape for my Mars Rover body. You could use regular masking tape instead, and color it with marker and make your own designs.

2. Make the axles!

Next make 4 holes at each side of your container that are just a little bigger that the straw thickness. Insert your straws all the way through so that they stick out both sides. This will be your wheel axles. If they do not turn easily, then pull the straws out and adjust your holes a little.

3. Make the wheels!

You can make wheels out off a piece of cardboard. Simply draw four circles and cut them out. You can do this by taking any circular object and tracing around the edges on your cardboard before it them out.

I used four old instant coffee container lids that I had saved for my wheels. If you'd like to use container lids for your wheels, just make sure not to throw them out after using the container, and when you have four of the same kind, you can build your own crazy wheeled vehicle.

4. Add the wheels!

I attached my wheels using a hot glue gun. This is great for crafts like this. If you don't have access to one you, can carefully tape your wheels on by slipping on the wheel and taping it to the axle with small pieces of tape instead. I laid the rover on its side on top of my wheels. Then I lifted the straws up, squirted some hot glue in the center of my wheel, and pushed the straw down into the glue making sure that it stayed centered and that the rover body was also flat on its side resting on the other wheels.

5. Repeat on the other side!

Now repeat step 4 on the other wheels. Make sure to try your best to keep each wheel centered on its axle.

VOILA! - a 4 wheeled rover! You can start rolling it around or dress it up. This is my favorite part of a project. I start looking through all of our containers full of recycled supplies and again, VOILA! - a detergent push button top! Attach it to the top and it's futuristic piece of equipment. For my windows I cut out small pieces of cardboard from a popsicle box into the shapes of my window and covered them with some black tape and attached then. So, have fun and see what you can come up with.

Motivation Letter For Work Abroad

If you are applying for a job abroad (particularly in Europe or South America), a Motivation Letter For Work Abroad takes the place of a Cover Letter. Both resumes and Motivation Letters are much less formal than their United States equivalents. The Motivation Letter, as its name implies, tells your prospective employers why you are motivated to work for their companies. It gives you a chance to describe your personality, the languages you speak, any awards you may have won, and what motivates you to work abroad.

The Motivation Letter is constructed like a formal business letter, with your name and address in the top right corner. Beneath this and against the left margin should be the name, job title, company and address of the recipient. (It is worth doing a little digging to find out the name, if you don't know it.) European countries don't put a period after title abbreviations, so remember to leave them off ; i.e., "Mr" instead of "Mr." and "Dr" rather than "Dr.". Spell out the name of the month and use the order "day-month-year."

Creativity

The first paragraph of your Motivation Letter describes the job for which you are applying, and how you learned about it. The second paragraph should address your qualifications for the job; don't just list them, talk about them. Show yourself to be a person of initiative and creativity ; in short, motivated! In the third paragraph, talk about why you want this particular job. What skills do you bring to it? What do you hope to learn? Finally, in the fourth paragraph give your contact information and times you are available for interview.

If you used the recipient's name, close "Yours sincerely;" if you used "Dear Sir or Madam," close "Yours faithfully." Type your name four spaces down and two spaces under that, against the left margin, type "Enclosure." Sign your name in the space above your typed name, attach a resume to your Motivation Letter For Work Abroad, and you've done it!

How to Create an Exotic Moroccan Bedroom

Moroccan décor is quite popular in modern homes, due to its dramatic jewel toned colors, gorgeous exotic patterns and luxurious Moroccan fabrics. Making a bedroom into an exotic Moroccan bedroom is a decorating project that can be very exciting. From choosing the Moroccan furniture pieces you like to finding the Moroccan bedding and decorating accessories that fit your taste and set the mood of your room, the shopping experience will surely be a pleasant one with so many Moroccan home accessories to browse through and enjoy.

How to Start Your Decorating Project

Create

Start by selecting your paint color. What color excites you for your Moroccan inspired bedroom? You have lots of color choices with this theme. Moroccan décor spans a wide range of colors - from cobalt blue to saffron yellow; from shocking pink to brilliant red and gorgeous greens. Any of these colors would work nicely in this African décor. Offset with some earthy tones, like sand and cinnamon and your bedroom will definitely take on the decorative appeal of Morocco.

Use Moroccan Home Accessories To Complete The Look

You can add wonderful touches of Moroccan design to your bedroom with mood lighting using Moroccan candle lanterns or lamps. Use authentic lanterns imported from Morocco if your budget allows or you can achieve the same look and feel with beautiful Moroccan-inspired candle lanterns at a substantial savings.

There are many Moroccan lanterns and lamp designs to choose from. You can start adding that exotic touch by purchasing just a few Moroccan candle lighting fixtures. Hang your Moroccan lighting or place them on side tables or drawer tops.

Many Moroccan lanterns and lamps use candles as their light source, but they can also be electrical. The choice is yours. The advantage of using candles as the light source is that the movement of candle light enhances the romantic mood created by Moroccan candle lanterns. The flickering flame causes the shadow effects made from the intricate pattern cut in the metal of the lanterns to dance about on ceilings.

Heighten the mood in your romantic Moroccan themed bedroom by using scented candles in your exotic candle lanterns.

When it comes to Moroccan bedding, most designers suggest that you stick with spice colors. Your bedding can either match or offset the color scheme of your paint.

Add lots of pillows or cushions on the bed and on the floor. Use pillows with colors and patterns of Morocco. Moroccan fabrics or even some embroidered silk will help you achieve your unique exotic look.

Rugs are another great accessory for your Moroccan bedroom. Use decorative area rugs or authentic Moroccan rugs to soften the floor and enhance the authentic look and feel of your bedroom.

Use canopies or mosquito netting above your bed to give your bed exotic style.

Moroccan furniture, including Moroccan tables, chairs, wardrobes, headboards and chests, can be heavy wooden or wrought iron pieces. Ornate markings on the heavy wood are common. Metal pieces lean toward being "chunky". If you want authentic Moroccan furnishings, you should look for Moroccan Imports such as intricately carved screens and carved furniture pieces with mother of pearl or brass details or intricate carvings and brilliant colors.

If you are having a hard time finding decorating ideas for your new exotic Moroccan bedroom, there are many Moroccan decor decorating books to choose from. You can purchase these books to find Moroccan decor ideas you would like to use.

If you are just getting married or buying a home and you like the Moroccan style, you can always put the Moroccan Imports you like on your wish list.

Any look can be achieved for less if you use your imagination. If you're on a budget, buy accessories and furniture that give you the feeling of Morocco for a fraction of the cost.

Men born between January 21st and February 19th come under the star sign of Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign of the thinker, from the element of Air and is ruled by the powerful planet of Uranus. Seven Key Qualities of Successful Entrepreneurs

A recent poll conducted by Forbes magazine shows that majority
of its readers would prefer to become a billionaire rather than
a Nobel peace prize winner, a great scientist or a famous athlete.
There is no secret that most of the average people dream about
getting rich albeit very few makes any real effort to become one.

According to statistics, more than 100 thousand people become
millionaires each year in the United States alone! Overwhelming
majority out of them is self-made and owners of business. This
means, if you would like to pursue your goal of becoming rich,
you have to start your own venture.

Creativity

Becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy task! There are certain
qualities that are absolutely necessary if you would like to
become successful in your business ventures. Some of these
qualities are built-in parts of your inherent personality, and
some of them get developed over time. Knowing these
characteristics and identifying your weak ones - those, which
need strengthening - will, eventually, help you become a
successful entrepreneur.

1. Common Sense

Studies show that most successful businessmen consider common
sense as the foundation of their success. Common sense is defined
as an ability to make sound judgments on the issues, which you
encounter in everyday situations.

Good judgment depends on acquired knowledge and past experience.
The combination of these two creates necessary prerequisites in
developing common sense in a person. Common sense allows you to
understand complex issues in simpler terms and get into the core
of a problem.

2. Specialized Knowledge of your field

It is easier to start a successful business, if you have deep
knowledge of the business field that you decide to pursue. About
half of all home-based start-ups are launched by people who decide
to use the knowledge, which they gained from their previous work
experience of a particular niche area.

Philip Green, a billionaire, who made his fortune in garments
retailing, claims that corner stone of his success is his knowledge
of rag trade. He, presumably, can price a fabric simply by rubbing
it between his fingers. Just by looking at a rack of coats he can
predict which ones won't sell next season. That's the kind of
knowledge required in order to become successful in
entrepreneurship.

Around 45 percent of all start-ups fail to survive more than two
years. One of the main reasons is many entrepreneurs do not
accumulate needed industry knowledge before jumping into business
world.

3. Self-confidence

Self confidence is a key entrepreneurial skill for success. It is
easy to become demoralized, frustrated and resentful if you lack
self-confidence.

Self-confidence is concerned with how a person feels about his
ability. A successful entrepreneur believes in his abilities. He is
not scared to explore un-chartered territories, take risk and take
difficult decisions.

Self-confidence, however, is not a personal trait that either you
have or you don't. A person can have high self-confidence in one
situation and totally lack in another. This is one of those skills
that can be developed by training.

4. Ability to get things done

Successful entrepreneurs are persistent and hardworking. They
master self-discipline to such extent that if a work is important
and related to their goals, they will, eventually, complete it.

Getting things done is the vital link between motivations and their
outcome. At times, entrepreneurs force themselves to choose work
over fun, a boring job against a pleasant one, working on tax
papers rather than reading a glamour magazine. This requires a
self-control that many people simply fail to develop in them.

5. Creativity

Creativity is the ability to use your insights and come up with
new solutions to old problems, get things done in a different way
or find a totally different approach for conventional things to
work together. Entrepreneurs need creative thinking ability
virtually in everything. Each new product, each new marketing
method, each business decision - all these are fertile ground
for creative thinking.

Often, entrepreneurs become immensely successful thanks to one
single creative idea!

6. Ability to lead

Successful entrepreneurs are capable of leading people and get
work done by them. They use a combination of various methods -
effective motivation, planning, coaching and evaluation - to
lead people. They are concerned about the wellbeing of others
and easily get along with people.

7. Self reliance

Successful entrepreneurs try to take full responsibility for
their actions. They know that what they are today, and what
they are going to be tomorrow, depend solely on themselves,
as it is the outcome of their own choices and decisions.
They are proactive people, who set goals, walk an extra mile
to achieve them and rely, primarily, on their own resources
and abilities.

If you would like to check out if your personality fits the
typical entrepreneurial profile, the following site has
questionnaire that will help you asses your entrepreneurial
skills:

If, even, you have all these great qualities and you feel
quite confident about yourself, you will never know how good
an entrepreneur you are, unless you give it a try! So, the
best way to prove your abilities, is to jump start a new
venture!

Tattoo Lettering - Create Your Own

Many tattoos have some type of lettering wether it be a name, date, phrase, or maybe the tattoo consists of only lettering. Whatever the case may be, it is extremely important to get it right. Just as people are picky when it comes to what font they type with, people should be even more precise when it comes to what is going to be on them forever.

Not only can you choose the type of font or lettering you want, but you can alter it to look exactly how you like. Also, you get unlimited updates and access to all the different fonts that become available as tattoo artists add new ones.

Create

Make sure whatever date, word, or phrase you are getting is written and spelled correctly. Nothing would ruin your day more than a WRONG tattoo. You might be laughing, but trust me I have seen it happen and its not funny. But you can keep laughing at those idiots who did it.

This Tattoo Lettering Program is available at the Tattoo Gallery Website that I have reviewed and rated as the top Tattoo Site on the Web. Create. Get Inked. Enjoy.

Remember, tattoos are permanent and therefore life long decisions. So don't rush out and get the first, second, or third design you find. Look at every possible style you can find and choose the one that you feel represents you. Once you get it, you will want to enjoy it every time you look at it for the rest of your life. Because you want your tattoo to be original, I would not recommend using a drawing or sketch from a free tattoo gallery. Many tattoo designs that are free are copies, poor quality, or your neighbor already has it. Take your time and use this Tattoo Review Site to help you find the perfect tattoo gallery and design for you. I have reviewed all available tattoo galleries and found the best ones to find professional and original tattoos. Good Luck!

Insurance Marketing Strategy

If you think you are having a hard time strategizing your insurance marketing, then you are not alone. That is one of the main reasons why some marketing strategies do not work. Some insurance agents simply copy what they see other agents doing, and soon everyone is using the same marketing strategy, which only confuses the customers. Originality becomes diluted, leaving nothing new to generate leads.

If this is already happening in the insurance industry then what you need to do is reinvent your service. Add something or invent a name for the things you usually do. For example, if you have a quarterly audit review of the service offered by your affiliates, checking up on the service offered by those connected to the insurance business is normal. However, extending that knowledge to your clients is an extra plus point for you.

Invent

Create a newsletter. Input success stories and pictures and get the customers involved. The idea is getting your customers excited and letting them enjoy being part of the company. Include the latest news and interesting topics that are not necessarily insurance material. You may ask, "What's the point?" The point is you will keep people interested, and once they are hooked, start slipping those referral sheets in your newsletter. People are bound to talk about things they find amusing and interesting, and this is one cheap advertising method for you.

Create a goal after you've made a sincere effort at each of these approaches. Write it down and place it where you'll see everyday. You will be surprise how well your subconscious works to achieve these goals you have written down. The next thing you know, you will be able to ask your clients for referrals. Naturally, this can take place only after you have created a good rapport with them. You will also be surprised how many people come through for you.

How to Locate a Friend Online

You have made the decision to find your friend online. This is a smart choice, but if you have no idea how to go about your search, your bright idea may suddenly feel a little daunting. Don't worry; looking up someone online is actually a lot easier than you think. It's really all a matter of knowing where to search, and what to search for to achieve the most effective results.

Here are a few tips to help you along:

Creativity

Tip 1 - Start simple - use your favourite search engine to help you, but don't be afraid to mix up your searches. While you can lookup your friend's full name and hope for the best, it is better to look up their name in combination with another strong fact or detail that is relevant to them, such as:

- The city and/or state in which they live.
- Title of their career
- Name of work place
- Name of high school or college
- Interests
- Etc.

Furthermore, don't forget that by adding certain formatting such as quotations, or shuffling words around can change results.

Tip 2 - Check out what's popular - Social networking sites have grown in popularity over the past few years, and now many of these online communities have millions of users with their own personal profiles. While the idea of joining one of these places may not appeal to you, there is a high chance it caught the interest of your friend, and he/she joined. Therefore, you can try to locate friends by searching for them on this type of site (I.E. Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, Plaxo, etc.)

Tip 3 - Number investigation - If you have a phone number that belongs to your friend, you can trace them by entering it into a free reverse phone lookup. If your friend's telephone number is not listed or belongs to a cellular phone, you would require a paid reverse cell phone tracer for location details, such as their home address.

Thus, it is quite simple to search online and locate your friend, as long as you have the right angle and are not afraid to think outside the box and explore your creativity.

What is Your Life Ideology?

I've been reading "Built to Last" by Jim Collins. One of the founding principles of some companies that have lasted more than 100 years is their Ideology. That is, the core values and guiding principles that they live by.

For example, Disney is governed by the ideology that its employees are "performers" when they are off duty they are "back stage" when they on duty they are "on stage" their uniforms are their "costumes" , etc. Disney's ideology is what makes them "magical".

Inventive

IBM is governed by the ideology that they are in the service business. That they are a solutions provider. Wal-Mart is governed by the ideology that the customer is king, to run as lean as possible and think big. 3m is an inventive company that believes "failure" is necessary to their success.

These companies formed a solid core that allows them to be super flexible right down to the very last employee. Once the ideology is engrained in its people they can act freely and their allowed to screw up! This freedom allows the company to live on long after their founder passes away.

Can you guess where I'm going next? I thought what a great approach for LIFE. How many of us have formed a solid ideology? Maybe unconsciously but how many of us have a clear idea on what we really stand for? Not just a life mission but a life "credo" that governs all of our actions?

That's what today's lesson is about. Forming a LIFE Ideology that will stick with you for the rest of your life. Something that you are conscious of. In the future you'll have to make a decision and you'll ask yourself, "What decision is best in alignment with my life ideology?" This exercise will have a serious impact on what you do in the future.

FIRST - Come up with a Life Mission statement that's exciting and juicy. Something that will never change no matter what happens in your life. I'll share mine with you:

"To be the most positively influential man the world has ever known."

A huge and very abstract mission- but something that will definitely govern my life in a big way.

SECOND - Come up with a list of guiding principles that you're absolutely committed to living your life by. I'll share a few of mine with you:

1. I absolutely commit myself to constant and never ending improvement.

2. My contribution begins where current knowledge ends.

3. Be frugal with all of life's resources: Time, Energy, Knowledge, Connection with Self / People, and Money. Waste not.

And that's it. Once you're conscious of your life ideology you'll want to pay special attention to how you behave in the world. Are the actions you're taking congruent with your life ideology? If it's not you better change your actions. Companies that give only lip service to their ideology are poor performers that eventually wind up on the extinct list.
